Ready to become a Honking Narwhal? Follow these two easy steps:

Step 1: Student Information

Fill out our student information form with your details and parent/guardian contact information.

Complete Student Info Form

Step 2: Pay Team Membership

Team membership fee: $250 per student

This fee covers competition registration, materials, tools, travel expenses, and team apparel.

Meeting Information

Location: 757 Makerspace, Norfolk, VA - 737 E 23rd St, Norfolk, VA 23504

Pre-Season:Runs from November - January 2 days per week. Meeting times TBD

Official Season: Intensive 6-week period (January-February) leading up to competitions in March 4-6 days per week

Who Can Join?

The Honking Narwhals welcomes high school students from the Norfolk, VA area who are interested in STEM fields. You don't need any prior experience - just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! If our team has fewer than 25 students, we will accept middle school students.

What's Expected of Team Members?

  • Commitment: Regular attendance at team meetings and build sessions
  • Collaboration: Working effectively with team members and mentors
  • Learning: Being open to new skills and challenges
  • Participation: Contributing to team activities, competitions, and outreach events
  • Professionalism: Representing the team with integrity and respect

No Experience Required!

Many of our most successful team members started with no robotics experience. We provide training and mentorship in all areas including:
